2023 – ILLUSION / EAGERNESS

*The word that heralds the theme of this edition carries multiple meanings in Catalan; in English there is no word that encompasses all the different meanings, so it has been translated into two words.

The theme of the tenth edition of the A Cel Obert festival, corresponding to the year 2023, is illusion / eagerness.

An illusion is the distorted perception of reality, be it due to a physical component or a product of the imagination, results in a fictitious event shaped by a mixture of a lack of personal lucidity and an uncontrolled emotional state.

Eagerness as a feeling is the overwhelming, ungovernable, uncontainable and wild hope we feel when we want to achieve a dream.

Illusion as an optical effect is, simply, the false representation of a hidden truth that we only perceive in secret and never manifests itself as real.
