EBRERINT

Introspection: action of examining oneself and inspecting one’s own feelings and thoughts with the capacity to understand them.

Introspection can be understood as a journey within. There are certain actions, such as meditation, that can contribute to this process. There are also spaces, spiral labyrinths for example, that reproduce this illusion of the intimate journey towards self-knowledge.

Ebrerint is an installation inspired by Pierre de Fermat’s spiral; a transitable labyrinth whose transparency produces the optical illusion of being inside without losing sight of the outside, at the same time as we are observed from without.

Spirals appear in many animal and plant species as well as in numerous cultures all over the world. It is also perceived as an icon of energy, consciousness and growth.
