Matís de Cels

The “Matís de Cels” project, located in the courtyard of the Convent of La Puríssima, suggests an immersion of the visitor in an atmosphere of experimentation with the blue colour. The idea arose from the understanding of the architecture of the courtyard as an enclosure of introversion and, at the same time, a window for the contemplation of the infinity of the sky. The installation will generate several windows of light through which each person will look at the sky and have their subjective interpretation of the shades of blue visible through the days.

“Matís de Cels” (Shades of Skies) is the proposal presented by Víctor Viscor from Barcelona and Isabel Villares from Sâo Paulo, Brazil.

Víctor Viscor is currently finishing his degree in Architecture at La Salle. He has obtained the fourth place in the competition Edifici Guàrdia Urbana de Barcelona (“Barcelona City Police Building”) of BIM/SA (Barcelona d’Infraestructures Municipals) and has worked, among others, with Mesura Estudi, Terradas Arquitectes and RCR Arquitectes. He currently collaborates with the firm Sergi Serra & Marta Adroer.

Isabel Villares has a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Escola da Cidade (Sâo Paulo, Brazil) and recently studied Ephemeral Space Design at ELISAVA (Barcelona School of Design and Engineering). In her professional career, it is worth mentioning her collaboration with projects and installations of stage lighting for museums and cultural spaces in Sâo Paulo, as well as the 31st Biennial of Art in 2014. She is currently working as a freelancer carrying out projects of architecture and design.
