LA ILUSIÓN DE ESTAR EN UN DIBUJO

Illusion is the ability to see reality with the eyes of a child. This idea serves as the starting point for this proposal. Drawing is something we all do when we are little but which we avoid as the years go by, probably for fear of being judged. But drawing as a personal hobby shouldn’t be measured in terms of excellence but as a way of expressing emotions.

So what would happen if were inside that emotion? Could a drawing make us happy for a few moments? These are the questions this work aims to throw into the air.

The artist transforms the true image of the patio, playing with the perception of reality by creating the illusion of being inside a drawn space.

THE AUTHORS

G Nivaria studied Fine Arts at the Universidad de La Laguna (Santa Cruz, Tenerife) and at the Accademia di Belle Arti Carrara (Italy). After graduating, she did a Master’s in Graphic Arts Publishing, specialising in Engraving and Serigraphy at the EASD Castelló (Spain). She is currently researching patterns of repetition as a means to generate images for her PhD in Art at the Universitat Politècnica de València.

Her work has been shown in exhibitions and public art festivals both in Spain and abroad. In the past year she has decided to train as a curator and participated at the seminar ON MEDIATION/10 Curatorship Theories and Practices in Global Art, led by the research group Art Globalization Interculturality from the Universitat de Barcelona.
