MERMA
Merma is a structure supported by blocks of logs which are steadily consumed. An installation that seeks to create a collective gathering around fire and which generates a column of smoke, an ephemeral summons to an event that is taking place. A landmark, a piece of urban furniture and an action that celebrates the tenth edition of A Cel Obert. A volume that gradually shrinks as the festival progresses; an object in fragile balance that ends in its minimal expression.

THE AUTHORS
Martillo Neumático is a collective of young architects that focuses on experimental and fluid installation projects, working from the design phase through to production. Their work seeks to alter the norms of public spaces by means of devices linked to actions, designed to interact with the urban context in which they are placed. As a collective, they have participated in various architectural and design fairs, including Insòlit, Gau Zuria and A Cel Obert, where they have developed notable projects such as Cuerpo Gris (Grey Body) or Desplome (Collapse).
Their creations have been discussed in specialist media and magazines, including Arquitectura Viva, Metalocus and Pasajes, and in the general press, including the newspaper El País. Members of the collective have worked on the Spanish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, at the Pan-American Biennial of Architecture in Quito and at the Ibero-American Biennial of Design. In professional terms, they have collaborated on public art projects for the firm mmmm…, the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid and the Centre Cultural Les Cigarreres in Alicante, among others.
On this occasion, Martillo Neumático is represented by Jerome Lorente, Mon Cano and Iñigo Barrón.
